Leadership
In 2006 Central Lutheran Church celebrated 20 years of touching the lives of the hundreds of members living in Arizona City and the greater Casa Grande area, as well as visitors who have passed through its doors. The membership of the congregation presently consists of approximately 140 families.
Pastor Thom Stephens (contact) has served at Central for over 18 years. He is a graduate of the University of Puget Sound (1979) and Luther Theological Seminary (1984) and previously served as a pastor in Scottsbluff, NE and Scottsdale, AZ. He enjoys activities such as hiking, softball, biking, golfing, watching sports and reading a good novel. His latest hobby has taken him to see a game played almost every major league baseball stadium. Thom is originally from Santa Clara, CA and is a loyal fan of the San Francisco 49ers and Giants. He and his wife, Alyson, live in Arizona City and have three adult children.
Intern Rebekah Davis. Bekah grew up in Alliance, NE, the youngest of four children. She completed her college studies at Indiana University by doing research on the impact of poverty in Southeast Asia and West Africa. Bekah completed her seminary studies at Yale Divinity School and then ran for congress in her home state of Nebraska. Her internship year is being done under the direction of Pacific Theological Seminary in California. Bekah is looking forward to the opportunity to learn from her experiences in our congregation and to work with us in our multi-site ministry.
Church Council
The church council consists of 12 members that meet the third Tuesday of each month. These leaders, guided by the church constitution, oversee the ministry of the congregation as well as envision future ministry.
